Because of a limited vocabulary, or out of frustration, some children will bite to make their point. While this stage of development and behavior is not uncommon, we discourage this behavior and try to prevent it from happening. The biter will be properly disciplined, redirected to a different activity, and a incident report will be completed describing what happened. If a child does not respond to our discipline methods, we will work with the parents to explore other methods. If a biter cannot be re-directed or controlled, the center will disenroll the child for the safety of the other children. If a child displays other serious behavior problems that adversely affect the classroom or other children, we reserve the right to disenroll.
